Genetics: Western Siberia Landrace (daylight neutral = Autoflowering)
Location: Chelyabinsk Oblast, Southern Siberia
Sourced: Collected at source in Western Siberia
Purpose: Resin production
Latitude: 54° N
Harvest: – Late August/early September
Height: 1.5 to 4 metres
Aroma – Piney, citrus, sweet floral taste. Also purple colours
Effects: intense body relaxation, mildly psychoactive, slightly cerebral, calm, physically soothing
Grow Type: Outdoors, greenhouse, or indoors
Characteristics: Autoflowering, small leaves, hardy purple hues, resinous

Seeds have been hand-picked from wild plants growing in rocky soil, in a rural village around Lake Chebarkul, located east of the Ural Mountains. The Ural Mountains form the continental boundary between Europe and Asia, Chelyabinsk itself is therefore also known as “The Gateway to Siberia.” These were gathered at 54° N. The leaves are thin and heavily serrated.

Plants flower in July at 54° N latitude. This early flowering characteristic has proven to be dominant making it an excellent strain for creating new strains with shorter flowering times. It is a great breeding tool. One of the hardiest to grow outdoor. Resistant to cold, powdery mildew, strong winds and cold. This is an extremely light feeder, does not need any kind of nutrients for the first week or two and does not like chemical nutrients. Go organic and as light as possible.

Also, these plants prefer drier conditions. Growing at such latitudes in very adverse climate conditions these plants have developed resistance to low temperatures, powdery mildew, humidity and strong winds. They are a good candidate for breeders and amateurs who want to develop new varities with such qualities and at the same time cutting down on flowering times, especially if grown in adverse conditions.

The effects are great. Smooth smoke, really medicinal, long lasting and intense body relaxation. Mildly psychoactive, slightly cerebral, it lingers in the back of your eyes making you feel slightly stupid and sedated. Calming, physically relieved from pain, soothing

*Noteworthy: It will ripen around 1st of September. This strain is well-suited for northern latitudes.

Please note: Not all plants have thin leaves. Some show wider leaves suggesting the possibility of foreign/alien pollen coming from landrace plants in neighbouring Kazakhstan. From January/February 2020 it will be possible to have seeds divided by terpene profile and colouration: 1. Piney, Sweet Floral, Citrus, Purple

Climate

Chebarkul has a warm summer humid continental climate. May has an average temperature of 20°C/68°F. In June 23°C/74°F, July 24°C / 76°F, August 23°C/74 °F, and a relatively cold September 17°C/63°F.

These are super fast flowering day neutral (autoflowering) plants, so after they germinate and you plant them in whatever you choose and they will want to flower as soon as two to three weeks of vegetative stage. You will not want to waste time and transplant them to a 5-10 gallon or outside so they could have unperturbed growth for as much of their life cycle as possible.

Seeds

It is advisable to cold treat these seeds, by storing them in the fridge or freezer for a couple of days in a sealed container with rice. This will help your seeds get the signal that after they come out of the cold it is time to trigger the start of germination. It’s possible to dip the seeds in a light peroxide solution mix or or germinate between wet tissues. These seeds are dark and fairly small with a hard husk.
Here a video tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=zgqzqGdMXhQ&app=desktop

History and Culture

Numerous rivers originate in the southern Ural Mountains. Chelyabinsk Oblast is also home to more than 3,748 lakes, including Lake Turgoyak. Isle of Faith, near its Western shore is primarily notable for their 6000 BC year old megalithic structures. Scientists still can’t accurately explain exactly who built these mysterious structures and for what purpose.
