Named for the brightest star in the night sky known by many as “the dog star,” Sirius is a Chemdawg cross that has serious potential as flower and extract. The Stardawg mom came to us from Kevin Jodrey of Wonderland Nursery in Humboldt — it had a strong ammonia smell and a potent flavor. We matched Jodrey’s Stardawg with our favorite and most reliable dawg this year, Chemdawg bc3. This proven male provides a stabilizing force to Sirius for a more robust structure and improved cloning viability, and it adds to that Chemdawg fuel flavor profile.
Sirius produces massive yields both indoors and outdoors, making it a versatile strain to grow across the state. Oil producers are particularly fond of this strain, as the stand-out terpene levels make the extraction process wholly worth the effort. Feedback from farmers has been positive for the yield and quality of Sirius’s flowers. Some of our most selective breeders are holding on to a few individuals as keepers to include in their genetic libraries.
Farmers seem to be catching onto Sirius’s perks and it’s considered to be an all-around winner. If you want a heavy yielder that isn’t prone to mold, this Chemdawg cross is ideal.
