Originally from northern California and a mainly Indica plant, OG Kush is one of the most popular varieties in the USA. Its true genealogy is totally unknown. Some say that OG Kush is a cross between ChemDawg, a Thai Lemon and a Pakistani Kush. Others claim that it’s no more than a special ChemDawg clone from the start of the 90s. There has also been some debate about the meaning of the name OG with some claiming that it stands for Original Gangster. However, based on its origins, most now believe that it means Ocean Grown. A compact, somewhat short plant with small, fairly wide leaves that stand out because of their unusual olive colour. It branches out well and is ideally suited to Super Cropping techniques. OG Kush has an 8-9 week flowering cycle, producing medium-sized, yet very compact buds and yields of up to 600g/m2.
