Moroccan hashish was considered one of the best in the world in the last century, yet growers are increasingly turning to more powerful and resinous modern marijuana hybrids which offer higher hash yields.
As a result, traditional varieties such as Beldia are likely to disappear in the course of pollination with new strains.
ACE Seeds intends to preserve this unique genetics and offers its P2 Beldia version in the form of regular seed, a strain originally from Ketama and Chefchaouen.
Beldia is a 100% Sativa genetics showing semi auto-flowering features, with a fast flowering and early harvest.
Beldia marijuana cultivation
Beldia is a variety originally cultivated in dry areas with poor soils, with reduced water and fertilizer needs, being an excellent option for Guerrilla cultivation in hot and dry climates.
However, it can be cultivated indoors satisfactorily, being careful not to provide too much fertiliser or water. It has a flowering period of about 7-8 weeks indoors, with the harvest ready in August cultivated outdoors.
In order to maintain mother plants, ACE Seeds recommends using large pots and provide at least 20 hours of light per day. A lower light cycle or limited space for the roots could encourage the plant flowering.
There are two Beldia Kif phenotypes, the most common is slender with a columnar structure, and the second and less frequent phenotype is more compact and branchy.
Beldia marijuana harvest
Beldia produces typical Sativa, spiky and resinous flowers that are ideal for dry resin extraction. It is a real experience that transports us to the Rif Mountains with its floral and spicy aromas.
Beldia offers a Moroccan landrace flavour and aroma combining earthy, spicy and woody notes with a cannabis terpenes profile consisting of alpha pinene, beta myrcene, beta pinene, beta caryophyllene and alpha humulene.
It has a rather low cannabinoids level, with a soft, positive and warm effect that favours introspection and relaxation.
