The Big Buddha has been writing articles for Weed world for several years, as well as providing pictures of the Cheese. In the meantime, during the last two years he has also had the opportunity to work on his genetics in the Meditarranean area. The Big Buddha first acquired a Cheese cutting back in early 2002 and started a little side work on crossing Cheese with an excellent true landrace Afghani male, that was given to him by an old friend who had spent time in the region. Selected female Afghanis were really big yielding plants, with really tight internodes, (as well as a rich, lovely deep fruity bouquet), the male had the same smell and had excellent tight branching. The first cross made was late in 2002. There were some varied results but through selection the best male was backcrossed with the original Cheese. Further to this, with a move to a more suitable location further backcrossing was carried out which helped to add to the hybrid vigour of the strain.Once some seeds had been produced and handed to colleagues in the industry who congratulated The Big Buddha on his work he began full commercial seed production, with an emphasis on testing viability, stability and germination rates of the seeds.

Strain Description

Strawnana Sundae is one of the best creations the British seed bank has ever made. Big Buddha Seeds decided to cross a Strawberry Banana with a Lemon Skink that was chosen for its intense, perfect lemon aroma. When grown indoors it’s pretty simple thanks to the fact that it’s slightly more indica than it is sativa. It grows quite compact without being too compact that it yields low amounts of flowers. It can grow over 1.2, however, due to its intense Skunk genes. Flowering times may vary depending on the phenotype, and it can range from between 8 and 10 weeks which means that yield can vary. You can harvest anywhere from 400 to 550g per square meter when done right.Outdoors it should be ready to harvest towards the end of October, so you’ll need to make sure to take preventive measures against nasty fungi. This strain generally tends to grow wide and tall, over 2.5m when grown in the ground – for even better results, train its branches and you can harvest up to 700g from just one plant. Its buds are incredibly aromatic and beautiful. Its clearly best known for its flavor; it’s intense and complex with an easily notable banana flavor and a sort of fruit-cocktail aftertaste that’s present in the aroma too. Its effect is quite clean, giving a physically relaxing and mentally activating sensation.Sativa/Indica: 45/55%Flowering: 55-70 indoors, end of October outdoors.Height: 0.8-1.4m indoors, 1.7-2.5m outdoors.
