Breeder Description

We are not new to cannabis; we are simply breeders of many NEW and unique cultivars. Here at our home of magnificent mountain vistas, lakes, and fresh crisp air, we have been, and still are known for our cannabis cuttings from which our roots first emerged. After years of considerable acquaintance with the finest cannabis cultivars around, it became a natural progression for us to evolve into the cannabis breeding industry. Given the calcified specter of prohibition, we have had to operate quietly in the shadows for some time now. However, our seeds have found gardens in far-reaching places, wherever growers and patients pursue the cultivation of quality medicine. From such customers that have reflected their experiences back to us, we can confirm the inherent genetic quality of our seeds, giving us validation from not only these long-term customers, but from fellow cannabis breeders as well. Our customer satisfaction and the loyalty engendered by such give us humble pause.Breeding quality genetics requires time. We reject more cultivars — no matter the hype — if it does not meet, in our humble opinions, our standards. Then, there’s the matter of stabilizing crosses — very much a quality control mandate. Many breeders might skip these methods as these add to costs. Then, there’s the desire (quick profit motivation?) of wanting to be first-to-market, for what that matters. Not us. We breed with only our tried and true, best performing varieties. We continue to pursue our breeding endeavors today with a forward thinking mindset and industry improving practices.

Strain Description

Over the years, we have cultivated quite a few strains noted for higher than average CBD content. However, we wanted to breed one that could stand up to any big name THC strains in both appearance and aroma. Our choice CBD strain for this project was CBD Nordle (a strain that we’ve kept in our garden for several years). We’ve not come across a strain quite like her before, and consider her to be underrated when compared with other top CBD strains. She is a short, stocky bush and a generous yielder of large, purple hued flowers with a unique bouquet of grapes, mixed berries, almonds, and roses. However, as much as we love her for such delightful traits, she is a slow grower, and for an extreme indica, requires 10+ weeks of flowering time. If only she could be paired with a male that could shorten that… Enter our garden stud: Huckleberry Hound! Not only could he offer the open plant structure that we desired, he came with a painting brush that could bathe the offspring with a profuse palette of colors with an emphasis on purple (a personal fondness of ours).Purple Pleiades – Yes, we are endeared! For not only were our expectations met, this varietal exceeded them. The resulting aroma/flavor profiles offer a complexity unseen in either parent with a medley of sharp grape-flavored cough syrup/soda combination in the entry, and finishing with a lingering chocolate – coffee nuance in the mouth spiced with acetone/nail polish remover to really flare one’s nostrils. With cooler temperatures, Phenotype #2 should be expected to turn dark purple. That is, the entire plant from fan leaves to flowers! However, this pheno’s real gifts go beyond external beauty for she is healing medicine with a nearly balanced THC:CBD ratio (see our test results below). To be sure, its THC level is higher, and together with the terpenoid myrcene should still induce a potent euphoria common with other such strains. We recommend having your phenos analyzed for cannabinoid profile, as Phenotype #1 does not possess #2’s high CBD content.Lastly, we named this varietal the Purple Pleiades for the glistening glandular trichomes that blanket the flowers against the dark purple backdrop; similar to the Pleiades star system that is one of the brightest star clusters in the sky. A bright day for natural medicine: Purple Pleiades.
